How it works

• What grades do you tutor?

  We work with students from Kindergarten through 12th grade across all core subjects. Whether your child is just learning to read or preparing for AP exams, we have a tutor who specializes in their grade level and subject.

• Are all sessions online?

  Yes — every session takes place online via video call. Your student learns from home, which means no commute, no scheduling around traffic, and sessions that fit into your family’s routine. All you need is a device with a camera and a reliable internet connection.

  Sessions work on any laptop, tablet, or desktop. We’ll send you a video link before your first session.
• How long is each session?

  Standard sessions are 50 minutes. This gives enough time for meaningful instruction, practice, and a short wrap-up without overwhelming younger students. For intensive test prep, we can arrange back-to-back sessions.

• What subjects do you cover?

  We offer tutoring in Math (Kindergarten through 5th grade), Reading & Literacy, Writing & Composition, and Science (earth science, biology, chemistry, physics). Visit our Subjects page for a full breakdown.

• Do you follow the school’s curriculum?

  We align with your student’s current coursework whenever possible. When you book, you can share notes about what your student is working on — your tutor will review this before the first session and tailor the approach accordingly.

Tutors & matching

• Who are your tutors?

  Our tutors are experienced educators — many are current or former classroom teachers, subject specialists, or graduate students in education. Every tutor goes through a background check and a structured onboarding process before working with students.

• How do you match my student with a tutor?

  When you book, you tell us the subject, grade range, and any specific goals or challenges. We use that information to match your student with a tutor who has the right subject expertise and experience with that grade level. You’ll receive your tutor’s name and a short bio in your confirmation email.

• Can we request a specific tutor?

  Yes. If your student has worked with one of our tutors before and would like to continue with them, just mention it in the notes field when booking. We’ll do our best to accommodate the request based on availability.

• What if the match isn’t a good fit?

  It happens, and it’s not a problem. Just reach out after the session and we’ll arrange a different tutor at no extra charge. A good tutor-student relationship matters more than a quick match.

Booking & scheduling

• How do I book a session?

  Use our Book a Session page. You’ll choose a subject, pick a date and time, and fill in your student’s details. The whole process takes about three minutes. You’ll receive a confirmation email with your video link within 24 hours.

• How far in advance do I need to book?

  We recommend booking at least 48 hours ahead so we have time to match your student with the right tutor and send preparation materials. Same-day bookings may be available depending on tutor availability — contact us directly if you need something urgent.

• Can I schedule recurring sessions?

  Yes. Many families find that weekly sessions produce the best results. After your first session, your tutor can set up a recurring schedule directly with you. Consistent sessions help students build momentum and retain what they’ve learned.

  Students who meet weekly for 8+ weeks typically show measurable improvement in grades and confidence.
• What is your cancellation policy?

  You can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your session at no charge. Cancellations within 24 hours may be subject to a late-cancel fee. If your tutor needs to cancel, we’ll notify you as soon as possible and offer a full reschedule or refund.

Rates & payment

• How much does a session cost?

  Rates vary by subject and grade level. You’ll see the exact price for your selected subject on the Subjects & Services page. There are no hidden fees — the price shown is what you pay.

• Do you offer packages or bundles?

  Yes. Multi-session packages are available at a discounted rate. After your first session, your tutor or our team can walk you through package options that fit your student’s goals and your budget.

• What payment methods do you accept?

  We accept all major credit and debit cards. Payment is processed securely at the time of booking. We do not store card details on our servers.

Tech & setup

• What do we need for a session?

  A device with a camera and microphone (laptop, tablet, or desktop), a stable internet connection, and any materials your student is currently working with — textbook, worksheet, or assignment. That’s it.

• What video platform do you use?

  We use a secure video platform that works in any modern browser — no app download required. Your session link will be included in your confirmation email. Just click the link at the scheduled time.

• What if we have technical problems during a session?

  If you experience a technical issue that interrupts the session, contact us immediately. We’ll either resume the session once the issue is resolved or reschedule at no charge. We don’t penalize families for connection problems outside their control.
